NEW! Marjorie Lightman and William Zeisel will curate "Twelve Years that Shook and Shaped Washington," a multimedia exhibit opening in 2015 at the Anacostia Community Museum and six associated sites around the District.
The show will feature
- the rise of Chocolate City
- the advent of home rule
- the destruction of neighborhoods from urban renewal, riots, and highway construction
- the building of new institutions
- the flourishing of elite and popular culture
— in other words, all the chaos, creation, and controversy that marked the Great Society from the early 60s through the mid-70s, and that made the Washington DC of today.

QED Associates LLC has received a grant from the DC Commission for the Humanities to support eight public programs about race, higher education, and Washington, DC. The programs will be based on Since 1851: 160 Years of Scholarship and Achievement in the Nation's Capital, written by Drs. Lightman and Zeisel.
